Our God can handle it

I don't know about you but I seem to always have something going on that I need to pray about. At times I start to feel guilty that I come to God so much with all my needs and requests. I was sharing how I felt with my mother and as always she spoke truth into my life that lifted the guilt. She said "don't even think for a moment that God feels burdened or doesn't want to hear your prayers, he is a loving and caring father who wants and loves to have us come to him."  It wasn't anything new but I needed to be reminded, that my Daddy can handle it ALL.  Unlike us, God does not have a limit to how much he can take, and that's why he tells us to bring all our worries and burdens to him. It's so good to know that he is always there inclining his ear to listen and to be there when we need him. In his word he says to ask and keep asking and we will receive, I know that he is always faithful to fulfill his word.

  • Jesus was above all a man of prayer and he never made a decision without prayer.

I love that we can come to God in prayer and bring everyone and everything to him and that's exactly what he wants us to do. The guilt I've been feeling for asking too much from him is not of him. He cares for the family on the TV show that I've seen and now pray for often, for the people I meet at the store or drive by and feel like I should say a prayer for. Or our close ones with all their needs and problems or even distant friends and family, HE CARES and wants us to pray and come to him with all our requests, all the time. Politics don't scare him or even the people running for a position, he cares for each and every person, even when they don't know him. He tells us to pray because there is power in prayer and he is able to do all things even the unimaginable. I love that we have such hope through Christ Jesus.

I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.                 Psalm 16:8

God is not shaken by what happens in our world, he is our Rock and our Salvation. Neither should we be afraid or shaken by life's circumstances. But in all things come to him with praise and thanksgiving for being in control of everything. And in every answered prayer may his name be glorified and to him alone be all praise!

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.. Hebrews 4:16a

Jesus looked at them intently and said, "humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible." Matthew 19:26

I love the LORD because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. 2 Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!  Psalm 116:1-2

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.  Romans 12:12

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 1 Timothy  2:1-4
